Críticas

“There was an irresistible warmth in everything Miss Sant’Ambrogio did. It translated into a special quality of sound, and it gave Hindemith’s Solo Sonata both a dignity and a sense of drama…One has rarely heard the ‘Arpeggione’ played with such love.”
Bernard Holland, NEW YORK TIMES
“Cellist Sara Sant’Ambrogio got the big ovation of the evening. She played the Grutzmacher adaptation of Boccherini’s amiable B-flat concerto elegantly, with a fine feeling for style. Her playing proved warm and communicative.”
ST.LOUIS POST DISPATCH
“Sara Sant’Ambrogio, the gifted and beautiful young American cellist, brought craft and skill equal to the tremendous task. And thanks to her artistry and musical insights, every thorn became a rose.”
THE INDIANAPOLIS NEWS
“Sara Sant’Ambrogio offered one of the loveliest and most musical recitals heard here in a very long time. She plays with a rare interpretive sincerity that goes straight to the heart. Her tone is unwaveringly beautiful, most especially when the musical line calls for the intensity and dynamic extremes that so often coarsen the tone. Her cello sang with phrases so beautifully expressed that they seemed to be actually speaking.”
PALM BEACH DAILY NEWS
“Sara Sant’Ambrogio proved to be an artist with a full-bodied sound and an instinctive musicality.”
THE PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER
“Sant’Ambrogio made a fine impression in the Boccherini piece, playing with big warm, cello tone, seamless legato line and a certain sense of romantic involvement. Sant’Ambrogio has both temperament and musicality. She drew lots of sound from her cello but almost never a scratch.”
Cleveland, THE PLAIN DEALER
“Sant’Ambrogio’s approach was forceful and extroverted. She was also a risk-taker, pushing her tone to the edge of clarity to express an idea, to convey a nuanced meaning. Her musical vocabulary was especially rich and textured.”
THE ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION
“Joshua Bell and Sara Sant’Ambrogio played with lyrical restraint and lovely tone.”
THE LOS ANGELES TIMES
“(these) performances virtually devoid of blemishes, were among the finest readings of these scores heard in this critic’s lifetime of listening and study. Overall, the concerts were so good, so refined, so polished, and so engaging that one immediately thought that recordings should be made.”
